SKILLS
Print Production, Dielines, CMYK Color Management, Multi-SKU Asset Management, Print Vendor Coordination
KiwiCo is a subscription based educational toy company specializing in STEM, STEAM, science, and art kits. As the sole designer on a print collateral refresh for KiwiCo, I owned the full production lifecycle across 20+ educational product SKUs from initial design concept through vendor-ready, packaged output.
My work included instruction pamphlets, retail product packaging, and product artwork. Managing production across multiple SKUs required a disciplined approach to version and variant control, maintaining consistency across size runs and product lines while keeping source files organized and scalable.
Every file was built to print specification from the start with proper bleed, trim, and dieline setup as a baseline. Color was managed through dedicated CMYK swatch libraries rather than RGB approximations, ensuring consistency and press accuracy across the entire product line. Regulatory copy, such as warning labels and compliance text, was integrated into packaging layouts with careful attention to legibility, placement, and copy accuracy.
Prior to every vendor submission, files underwent a full preflight audit to verify image resolution, color mode, overprint settings, embedded fonts, and PDF export standards and ensure clean, press-ready output. Final delivery involved packaging production files in Illustrator and InDesign, coordinating directly with print vendors, and conducting hands-on QC reviews of physical vendor samples to catch and resolve errors before press runs.
